Chilean krautrock

Föllakzoid (prounounced foll-ack-zoid) started playing together in 2008 in Chile when they were 20 years old. They were an eclectic group as far as musical taste, having dabbled in everything from classic rock to punk. The first time they jammed together they played non- stop without speaking for two hours and were seemingly over taken by a trance without any clear reference point. After they played their first show they began to delve into 60’s German krautrock while cultivating their love of and simultaneous propulsion towards motorik beat.

Heavily informed by the heritage of the ancient music of the Andes, the band has learned to integrate this influence with contemporary sounds of their times, creating a rich yet minimal atmosphere.

They recorded their first record a year after they started and also birthed BYM (Blow Your Mind) Records to release this record and others from their burgeoning psych scene in Santiago, Chile. The label’s output is entirely analog using only tape recordings.

DEAF KIDS

are a unique psychoactive journey of Brazilian polyrhythmic percussion, hypnotic chanting, and aggressive repetitive raw punk all echoing out from another dimension. Having had the blessed opportunity to play several shows with them in Europe and Brazil I can say that without a doubt, they are something new and mind blowing created from something old and primal. Their youthful energy is contagious and their wisdom and deep knowledge of sound is beyond their years. Although raging and distorted, these sounds are medicinal, like some sort of sonic Ayahuasca. You have to surrender to it to find out where it is leading you. We are so lucky and proud to be able to work together with them and release their insane sounds in our corner of the universe. They are beautiful people making beautiful noise.
